Bama Bike Fest
I attended Bama Bike Fest way back in 2008. I lived in Memphis, Tennessee at the time and learned about it from a search on
the internet. This motorcycle rally sounded like it might be fun and was only about a four hour ride for me. Granted, the roads are somewhat flat and not as curvy as East Tennessee, but I thought it would still be a good ride, and a good rally.
Bama Bike Fest is touted as a really wild motorcycle rally. With clothing optional attire, adults only, and several games as well as bands, I was hoping to have a great time.
Bama Bike Fest is held in Forkland, Alabama, a small town many people may not have even heard of. It is just beyond the Mississippi/ Alabama state line headed eastbound from Mississippi. It is a relatively inexpensive rally. At the time I went, it was only $25.00 to get in the gates. Of course, for food and drinks, you’re on your own.
The camping at Bama Bike Fest is pretty good. The area is pretty level, making is easy to setup your tent without having to sleep on a hill. There is also plenty of shade to go around as well. Upon arrival, I was able to find a good camping spot right away without really having to look very hard.
March is one of the times of year that you can ride down to the Bama bike Fest. It’s an over the weekend affair. The games are wild and crazy, the crowd is civil and friendly, and the views are fantastic. You will also see several different motorcycle creations at Bama Bike Fest.
One of the bands that played when I was at Bama Bike Fest was Geneva. If you haven’t had the opportunity see them play live, I highly recommend going. Not only is the lead singer really good looking, but these guys sound great! I remember when they were playing, several people were up on the edge of the stage, and were dancing.
Everything was going good during the concert at Bama Bike Fest, but there was one guy that stood on the edge of the stage, dropped his jeans and let it all hang out. That wouldn't have been so bad, but then one of the
women in the audience proceeded to help him feel really good (if you catch the jist). It wasn't long, and the Bama Bike Fest security had to come down and escort these nice folks back to their campsite so they could finish what they started without the audience.
Who knows what might happen if you go to Bama Bike Fest. All I know is that I had a great time, and I would imagine that you will too. I hope to go back someday, but it’s a little longer ride for me, so I will have to plan a little more to be able to attend Bama Bike Fest.
