Devils Triangle
Devils Triangle - a small, but very nice motorcycle campground - a good rally - fantastic riding.
The Devils Triangle Motorcycle rally was one of the first I attended when I moved to East Tennessee. It is actually located at a place called the Grey Wolf Campground.

The first time I spent a couple of days in East Tennessee, I looked at a map trying to find an interesting road. That is not a very hard thing to do in this part of the country. I found a road labeled Highway 116 that looked like it curved pretty tightly through the mountains just north of Oak Ridge Tennessee. I went out to drive it with a truck, because my motorcycle was still in West Tennessee.
Highway 116 was a great drive, but I sure wished I would have had my motorcycle. I passed a place called Grey Wolf Campground. I didn't know at the time that it was the home to the Devils Triangle Motorcycle rally. One of the reasons that it caught my eye was that there was a motorcycle somehow attached to a tree near the side of the road.
I learned later (back in Western Tennessee) that there was a motorcycle rally held at the Devils Triangle, so I made sure that it would be a destination once I made it back to East Tennessee.

I strapped a tent, sleeping bag, and a few camping essential on the back of my motorcycle and headed toward the Devils Triangle. This time, I was riding highway 116 on my motorcycle and it was a totally different experience. The road itself has actually attracted some attention from the riding community in recent years.
The setting for the Devils Triangle rally is very nice. It is nestled in amongst a number of surrounding mountains making it seem almost isolated. That in itself, I thought was a good thing. It is still a fairly new rally, so it was not a huge crowd. If you like a small rally, the Devils Triangle is one I would recommend.
They have a small pond in front of the stage, and a bathhouse just up the hill at the Devils Triangle. There is a fairly flat, open field where the bike games are held. There were not alot of vendors there when I went, but the food was really good. The best part of the Devils Triangle in my opinion was the rides. It’s about a two to three hour loop around Highway 116 and a fantastic ride. You just follow it through Briceville, Lake City, and back around by Oliver spring to complete the loop.
