Dangerous Curves
Dangerous Curves - Riding the Devils Triangle in East Tennessee: Some videos
The tail of the Dragon is not the only place to ride some of the most Dangerous Curves in East Tennessee. There is a great, but challenging ride called the Devils Triangle as well.
There are a few places in the road to watch out for. The switchbacks on this route possess some of the more dangerous curves you will find for riding.
The ride takes just over an hour, unless you plan to stop frequently. To ride some Dangerous Curves from east to west, just head out Highway 61 to Oliver Springs, Tennessee. At the light where Highway 61 and 62 split, take a left into town. Follow highway 330 out of town. It will turn left in about a mile or two. Stay on highway 330, then turn left on Highway 116. This is a 'T' intersection. You can only turn right or left.
Once on Highway 166, the Dangerous Curves begin. Stay on this road until you come down the mountain and past the old Brushy Mountain prison. It will bring you back out to highway 62, where you can turn left and do it again! Riding the opposite direction is a totally different experience. Check out these videos of the Dangerous curves along the Devils Triangle.
