JunebugThe road to Junebug was a good one this year. I decided to take the scenic route for the most part. Highway 70 is a great route to ride if you are headed to Junebug from the Knoxville area. Since Junebug is located out on Waterloo road, you can bypass Cookeville completely. A great route is through Monterey, then jump on Woodcliff Road. It turns into Brotherton Mountain road, through Algood, then hang a right on Fisk to Highway 136, then head north to Junebug. There are some great curves along this route. The only downside is that you will cross railroad tracks several times, so if you take this route to Junbug, try not to be in a big hurry. Once close to Junebug, there was a roadblock setup. The police were checking helmets, asking if folks had been drinking, the usual. It is not at all uncommon for a roadblock to be just outside of Junebug. A good rule of thumb is one you arrive; don't plan to leave until the rally is over. What a great party! This is an Adult only Motorcycle Rally. There were probably at least 6 to 8,000 people out there this year. Everyone seemed to get along great. There were no problems that I saw while out at Junebug. There is a more complete album of pictures from this year’s Junebug Motorcycle Rally. These are Adult oriented pictures. Please Contact us and leave an accurate E-mail address. We will promptly send you a Link to view the pictures from Junebug. We are not responsible for these falling in to the hands of persons under 21 years of age. Please state on your request that you are at least 21 years old. It was a hot one this time at Junebug. Of course, that is not necessarily a bad thing. There were several folks cooling off in small swimming pools filled with cool water. Some had bathing suits, but others had none. If you could stand the heat out walking around, the show was a good one. The bands were very good, and the entertainment was even better. From Wet T-shirt, to hair chest contests, to Motorcycle games, there was plenty to see and do at Junebug. Bag Lady Sue performed her comedy routine both Friday and Saturday nights. If you haven't seen her yet, she puts on a great show. Being a little tired on Sunday AM, I decided to slab it back. The Interstate was a much faster way back from Junebug, but not near as interesting. I hope to make it back to Junebug in the fall. |
