The Junebug Motorcycle Rally was held again in September of 2010. If you have not heard of it, this is a great rally with great people. It is held near Waterloo Tennessee twice a year. This is a 21 and over event, so if you are under 21, they won't let you into Junebug Motorcycle Rally. Waterloo is just north of Cookeville Tennessee. If you follow Highway 136 north just past Highway 293 you turn off to the left on Waterloo Road. Just follow the signs. Once you see the Volkswagen Beetle, you know you are there.

Some people arrive as early as the Wednesday before the events, but others filter in on Thursday and even Friday to Junebug Motorcycle Rally. If you can arrive at least by Thursday, you will be able to see more of the events taking place. One of the big events held on Thursday night is the Miss Junebug contest. The girls tend to be very friendly in this contest. The winner is crowned and generally wears both the crown and the sash for the remainder of the weekend.

I was surprised at the attendance at Junebug Motorcycle Rally this fall. The last Junebug Motorcycle Rally in June was
met with a rather large attendance. There must have been at least 7,000 people back in June. This fall, however, there were less than 1,000. Of course, that is not a bad thing - at least it was easier to negotiate around the trailers and RVs this time. Even with a smaller crowd this fall, the Junebug Motorcycle Rally was a heck of a party. There were still plenty of contestants for the games and events.

The weather for Junebug Motorcycle Rally for the weekend was mostly good. It started out pretty hot Friday and part of Saturday, but then cooled nicely Saturday night. We were greeted by a little rain Friday night.   Of course the rain didn't stop the party at Junebug Motorcycle Rally- it may have even added to the fun being had by everyone. The ride back on Sunday was actually a little cool.

There were a couple of bands playing at the Junebug Motorcycle Rally this fall. One of the bands were pretty good, but played some of the same songs multiple times. Of course, for the 30 dollar entrance fee, you can't beat the 'free' music provided by the bands.

A few of the events and games that were part of the Junebug Motorcycle Rally this fall were:

The slow race - this event was really good at Junebug Motorcycle Rally this fall. Some of these guys can really ride! The winner actually put his feet up on the highway bars during the race. That was something I had never seen before.

Wet Tshirt contest - this even is always a good one. More often than not, the T-shirt doesn't stay on very long at Junebug Motorcycle Rally..

Balloon toss - this one was pretty funny. Basically, you ride with a passenger under a bar. The passenger throws a water balloon over the bar and tries to catch it on the other side. The rider’s feet cannot touch the ground.

Honey I'm home - this was a new game for Junebug Motorcycle Rally.  A window was erected and there was an air mattress placed on the ground nearby. The guy brought his bike over and parked it on the other side of the window. He undressed down to his underwear and he and a woman 'played' like they were having a little nighttime fun. When the announcer said "Honey I'm home", the guy had to get dressed, open the window and climb to the other side, then get on his bike and ride away. This was a hilarious contest! The one with the best time was the winner.

Of course, it wouldn't be a bike event without bikes! There were several mini bikes running around. What a great way to get around Junebug Motorcycle Rally! There were also some great old school antique motorcycles.
