Obed Wild and Scenic River
Another great Motorcycle ride takes you out along the beautiful Obed
Wild and Scenic River. If you have not had the opportunity to ride out
this direction, we highly recommend it.
Of course the ride there and back is just as good as once you arrive at
the Obed Wild and Scenic River. If you are not familiar with the Obed
Wild and Scenic River, you will find this great ride near Wartburg, TN
and all across portions of Cumberland County. It actually stretches
from near Crossville, TN to the east side of Wartburg.
The Obed Wild and Scenic River is actually a combination of four rivers
and streams. The Emory River, the Obed River, Daddy's Creek (a good
whitewater rafting stream), and Clear Creek all come together to create
the beautiful Obed Wild and Scenic River.
Once you ride past Genesis road, this is actually where it is
designated as the Obed Wild and Scenic River. G
enesis road is also
highway 298 and a great Motorcycle ride in itself.
The gorge itself can be a little hard to see from the roads. To really
experience the Obed Wild and Scenic River and the gorge down below, you
will have to park and dismount your Motorcycle - and perhaps even take
a short hike to one of the overlooks. You don't want to miss this view!
It is well worth the short hike.

The Obed Wild and Scenic River hasn't really changed much from days of
the early settlers. It has been relatively undisturbed, partly due to
the lack of places to plant crops. This one of the reasons that it has
maintained its beauty, and makes a great place for a leisurely
Motorcycle ride.
