The Tail of the Dragon Motorcycle Ride – One of the best parts of the Wakin the Dragon Motorcycle rally.
The rides are what bring most people to the waking the dragon rally. The Tail of the Dragon Motorcycle Ride is one of the fantastic and exciting things to do while you are at the Wakin the Dragon Motorcycle rally.
The waking the dragon rally is held twice a year. It is tradition for the motorcycle community to get together twice a year for the dragon festivities and of course for The Tail of the Dragon Motorcycle Ride
. In the spring, the brotherhood of riders come together in the party spirit to Wake up the Dragon from its long winter slumber. The Tail of the Dragon Motorcycle Ride is part of the festivities. In the fall, the Rumble on the dragon is where riders put the Dragon back to sleep for the winter.
The land is mostly level, making finding a camping spot pretty easy. The waking the dragon rally is generally a fairly small one. There is a bathroom with a shower toward the left side of the camping area. The men’s has only one shower, but with the small population, that is not normally a problem.
The last time I went to the waking the dragon rally, it had rained quite a bit for three days prior to the rally. We still went on The Tail of the Dragon Motorcycle Ride. This was the spring rally. It was pretty muddy in spots, so you had to be cautious of where you parked and rode your motorcycle.
Due to the small size, there were not many vendors setup. There were only about five or six in 2009 and only one food vendor. The bike games that you normally see at a motorcycle rally were not setup at the last wakin the dragon motorcycle rally.
Most often, a ride is organized for the group to ride the tail of the dragon motorcycle ride. The year 2009 was an exception. Some friends and I rode together though. We rode both the tail of the dragon motorcycle ride and the Cherohala Skyway.
Usually, there a couple bands that play both Friday and Saturday nights. There was only one band the last time I went to the rally. They only played a couple of songs, and then kept taking extremely long breaks. |
